Cheese Traders

Cheese Traders in Burlington is an amazing place. Where else on earth
can you get 3 lbs of Cabot cheddar, 1/2 lb of house-made herb cheese
spread, some fancy chips, and two 1 liter bottles of French wine for
$27.50? I don't know how they do it but they are truly unbelievable. I
need to go there more often.

The Squeal

Alice has developed this wonderful new use of her vocal chords in the
past couple of days. After so long being a mild-mannered
speaker/squeaker, she has found a whole new range in the upper registers
that will put nails in your eardrums. She doesn't use it too often,
only when she's a little fussy, but man does it get your attention. She
ain't walking yet, but I think toddlerhood is just around the corner.

One year down...

So I'm a little late, and there aren't any photos to go with this
(frickin' dialup). Well Alice turned one on Thursday. What a great
little duffer she is, and what a year it has been. I can easily say
that this has been the greatest, and at the same time most challenging
year I've ever had. When I look at her now, play with her, walk with
her, talk with her, it amazes me that she was smaller than our cat not
long ago.

Thank you Alice for being such a joy to me. And thank you especially
Julie for sharing her, and our wonderful life.

All the sappy stuff for now, it's Christmas eve (and off to Grandma's we
go!)

Alice walks!

If only for 18 inches. Alice took her first couple of independent steps last night,
five days short of her first birthday. We haven't been able to get her
to repeat it, but they were her first steps nonetheless. If I'm lucky
I'll catch a pic sometime.

Alice turns 1 (sort of)

Okay, so her birthday is a little ways off. We celebrated early with Julie's family last weekend. She was afraid of the cake. Cake
