All right, what's been up?? Well, day care sucks. Alice is hardly there (she's been four or five days in the past month, and only one full day at that) and every time she comes back she gets sick. First was some bug that hit all of us a couple of weekends ago. Being responsible parents we kept her out the
next week, making arrangements as needed with Grandma Bradshaw (and still paid for her slot) to keep her home and healthy and keep other kids from passing on what she had.
So she goes in last week and by Thursday she's barfing and has the
squirts, it sort of stabilized over the weekend but not completely. I
made the call to have her go on Monday and she was sent home by 10:00
b/c of the squirts again. Dr. check tells us she has rotavirus, and a
check of the incubation time reveals that she had to get it at daycare. Ferchrissakes parents, if you're kid was shitting gravy all weekend,
don't send her to daycare Monday morning! So now we're going to arrange
(i.e. take off work, ourselves and Julie's mom) to keep her home next week and give her another week to get/stay better.
Anyway, she's doing quite well now, and has had a record feeding day. That's much needed since she's been parked around twelve-thirteen pounds for a month now. Her spirits are great, and she's been a delight today.
If only Julie didn't have the bug now....
